Uganda’s first lady Hon. Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni was on Saturday September 5th, invited by Dr. Ben Abe as one of the panelists to discuss the reconstruction and development of the Northern Uganda after the end of the war. And after some intense diplomatic lobbying the event did take place in a smaller room that was overly packed by UNAA members who came to listen in and to ask the First lady their burning questions. Initially Lt. Frank Musisi the UNAA President had invited a group of panelists for the session on Northern Uganda with a moderator from Canada. However the invitation by Dr. Abe who has traditionally organised the Northern Uganda forum went out to the office of the first lady who accepted the invitation and this almost created a political stalemate which was averted when both sessions were allowed to go ahead. Many people stood in line to ask their questions among which was the first lady’s view on what her husband thought about term limits. In her response the First lady graciously promised to pass on the question to her husband the President upon her return to Uganda.
