prayer_focus2

Several Ugandan churches in and around Boston joined together last Sunday the 19th of September to pray for the peace in the Buganda Kindgom and lives that were lost following the events of 10th-12th September during the Kampala riots. The event that was attended by Ugandan Catholics, Protestants and Moslems was led by the Ugandan born again churches in conjunction with the Gwanga Mujje Boston Chapter drew a record turn out. Most prominent among the speakers at the event was Dr. Abed Bwanika a church minister turned politician and the founder of the People’s Development Party (PDP) who spoke out against the continued dictatorial rule and human rights record of the current NRM government.

Among the other issues discussed were a planned demonstration in New-york on Sept 23rd and the Boston visit on September 26th following President Museveni’s speech to the UN General Assembly and his planned stop to the NRM gala in Boston.
