Dear Readers,
A very Happy New year to you and to all your families. It is a brand new year and that means that the past is gone and behold the new has now come. In conformity with tradition some of us will be pulling out our wish lists to make new year’s resolution. Mine is a determination to get back in the shape and use up that Gym membership more effectively. Other resolutions I will keep you posted in time.
At UNAA Times however this year is particularly special because together with my colleague Solomon we are making the leap into the private sector by creating our own employment. We actually were doing this blog over the last year as a hobby but now we shall be devoting more time and energy at UNAA Times.Com, Soreel-Mayas.Com and finally Galiwango.Com.
The latter of course is one project that has brought us a lot of excitement as we are currently involved in the making of the first animated Luganda Movie Galiwango, that teaches our community the importance of Wildlife Conservation. In this effort we hope to compliment the services of Uganda Wildlife Authority, The Friend a Gorilla campaign and all those involved in the conservation and promotion of the Uganda tourism industry.
The vision for Galiwango has also given birth to a new concept of the Uganda Cartoon Network and the Galiwango comic books. Very soon we shall be rolling out a Galiwango Cartoon TV series in both Swahilli and Luganda. The idea is to provide first class entertainment using the latest cutting edge animations and 3D Visual effects technology.
To help launch and put our campaign into perspective we shall be holding an awareness event and showcase the Galiwango trailer at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel Rwenzori Ballroom on the 24th January 2010. We therefore invite all those interested in financially supporting the Galiwango film project to turn up in large numbers as Solomon Jagwe unveils the first animated movie character, “Galiwango.”
The other piece of good news is that we intend to bring our services closer to the people who nurtured us. By this I mean that starting this your we shall become ‘localised’ and shall maintain an office presence in Uganda. This therefore means that we shall offer Digital Media Solutions in areas ranging from PR and Marketing, Visual Effects and Commercial TV Production, Music Videos, Diaspora News Gathering, as well as Media Consulting.
As is our motto at Soreel Mayas.Com we hope that you will journey with us this year as we Begin – Believe & Become that which we have purposed for so long.
Finally we appreciate all your continued support and the encouragement we have received in the past. Please keep that feedback flowing; that is what inspires us to improve daily.
Indeed it is good to be home.
Happy 2010!
