Bebe Cool’s Boston Kasepiki Concert Live!

All roads led to the Waltham French Club on October 30th 2010 as Bebe Cool ‘munene’ a.k.a Moses Ssali’s long awaited Boston concert kicked of in what has perhaps been the best show Ugandans in the north east have experienced in the recent past.

Bebe Cool started off his performance with a new boston based Live Band ‘Touch N’ Soul’ together with their back-up singers who sung and played his music to perfection before he went solo in a marathon of hit after hit that was remixed by DJ Jemmo.

From Munene or big size as Bebe Cool commonly refers to himself, to a song he wrote and dedicated to his mother who was in the audience to ‘Agenze’ a song he wrote in reference to his marital troubles with wife Zuena, to the crowd favorite ‘Kasepiki’, Uganda’s king of dance hall reggae did not disappoint.

Only months earlier he had been confined to a wheel chair after the fatal shooting that left his body guard dead and almost claimed his life in January following the R.Kelly’s concert in Kampala. Bebe Cool proved to his fan base yet again that he was indeed ‘munene’ a man of many lives who could survive bullets and was now returning on the musical scene in a big way..

A man who has seen many troubles and has constantly been involved in feuds with other artist for the number one spot in Uganda’s music industry, Bebe Cool got vindicated when his hit album ‘Kasepiki’  got nominated and won for best song and best album at this year’s 2010 PAM awards.

A musical genius Bebe Cool has also been instrumental in the formation of a reggae group the East African Bashment crew in the past whose hit singles included ‘Fire’. He is a Father of two adorable children and a husband to Ugandan model Zuena Kirema.

Sound at the ‘Kasepiki’ Boston concert was provided by the very able new kids on the block ’Faith-Tech Sounds’ based out of Boston whose surround system added to the ambient sound and created a real concert feel in every sense to allow the revellers a night to remember.

Boston was the second last leg of Bebe Cool’s ‘US Kasepiki Tour’ that had him perform in several US States that included California, Minnesota, Maryland, Washington, Chicago and Massachusetts. He was still undergoing treament in the US before returning to Uganda for a series of concerts.

UNAA Times News Team attended the Boston Kasepiki Concert and now brings you the highlights in pictures.
