Members of the civil society joined journalists to commemorate the day with a dialogue. Top on the mind of discussants were cases of intimidation of journalists by state operatives. The dialogue was attended by the US based Voice of America Talk show host Shaka Ssali and the proprietor of Independent Magazine Andrew Mwenda who called on journalists to report issues accurately without fear or favour.
