By Moses Wilson | UNAA President ~ The Ugandan North American Asosciation is very pleased to welcome Mr. Mukwatsibwoha (Kwatsi) Alibaruho as the Key Note Speaker at its 23rd Annual Convention being held at the Denver Downtown Sheraton Hotel in Denver, Colorado this coming Labor Day weekend.
Kwatsi, as he is most popularly known, is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Tecnology (MIT) and the first African-American to lead NASA Mission Control as a Flight Director for the International Space Station. Leading a team of flight controllers, support personnel and engineering experts, Mr. Alibaruho is one of a select team of Flight Directors who have the overall responsibility to manage and carry out space shuttle flights and International Space Station expeditions.
Mr. Alibaruho also leads and orchestrates planning and integration activities with flight controllers, payload customers, space station partners and others.
Kwatsi’s father is economist Dr. George Alibaruho from Uganda, while his mother, Dr. Gloria Alibaruho is from Macon, GA. Kwatsi’s story is an inspiration to all Ugandans in the Diaspora that with proper guidance, focus, will and determination, success and the American dream is achievable.
As an African American of Ugandan heritage, the Ugandan North American Association is very proud to welcome Dr. Alibaruho to its convention.
