Vanessa is a Ugandan born fashion designer raised in London UK. The Vanessa Mukasa Metropical Deluxe Collection was inspired by her love of Uganda and the wealth of colour within the African prints. The unconventional mix of different patterns mixed together with sequins to create a distinct look with different colour’s and textures is what inspires the designer.
The collection was last showcased at the 1st Ugandan UK convention on the 27th august 2011 at london’s swanky Troxy and was hugely celebrated with Rebbecca Kadagga in the audience amongst others.
The green ‘Eve’ dress is the ‘It’ dress of the collection, as it perfectly captures what the whole collection is about and is named after one of Vanessa Mukasa’s biggest inspiration her grandmother in Uganda.
The luxurious effect of mixing traditional african fabrics and shimmery metallic sequins has brought the collection to a new level and creates a funky and fresh approach to african fashion. Vanessa’s signature love of bling! bright colours! and prints! has been a staple on Metropical Deluxe.
Vanessa holds a fashion degree and has interned for Vivienne westwood and Lulu guinness as well as many others within the prominant fashion scene.
