Jagwe | Ugandans Making a difference ~ Visionary and Environmentalist, Mwiine Derrick | I have been following the mini video documentary series that Derrick has been making about Uganda, and I must say I am extremely proud of this young Ugandan. The innocence and passion behind the message is so powerful, he reminded me a lot about myself when I was a kid. I am a firm believer that Ugandan youth are the best bet for a sustainable Ugandan wildlife and natural treasure conservation.
78% of Uganda’s population is 30 years and below. We are a young country and hence the burden is on our young shoulders to carry it bravely into the future.
We need more young visionaries like Mwiine Derrick. He has a lot of room for improvement and I do applaud him for the steps he is taking to get better. I am most proud of the fact that he is doing something rather just wishing. That’s the spirit we all need to make a difference in Uganda.
I reached out to Derrick’s Dad, Muhiire Nathan, and asked him what he thought of his Son’s quest to make Uganda the greenest country in the world. This was his response:
“Thank you brother! all i have to say is, Derrick is the best accident that has ever happened to me! I’ll be there for him as long as i live & in whatever situation! no matter what he becomes, he will always remain my son carrying my blood in his veins! Even if he became criminal today or tomorrow, my love for him will never cease! About Derrick he is so crazy about Uganda! he loves Uganda so passionately! thats why he is undertaking 17 projects on Uganda”

Beautiful, beautiful…. Uganda is indeed a food basket. The food sooo fresh and full of nutrients that if parents and school caterers apply balanced diet in homes and schools, then there is no reason for having nutritional problems in Uganda.
With the fertile soils and weather that we have in Uganda, that allow us to farm throughout the year, famine should have no room amongest some Uganda regions.
